Jennifer Bunting
Jennifer Bunting is a Richmond, VA artist that works in multiple mediums. She loves creating art with unique textures and visual optics. From a very young age, Jennifer has been creating art in any form possible. At her parent's home in Alexandria, VA she used to create huge murals of soap and make-up on the bathroom walls as a toddler.
In college, however she choose her passion of science over her passion for art and graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University. While studying there she continued to paint and gained interest in glass when she was designing scientific glassware for specific chemical reactions. "I wanted to take glass classes at VCU but they wouldn't let me on their side of the campus," she laughs.
Her career path took her from Organic Chemistry to the world of Environmental Science, but she never left her artistic side behind. She continued to create and took many glass classes while working her day job and raising her son, her pets, and her husband.
Art is her true love and she uses her understanding of metals and inorganic chemistry to react different metals in the glass to create unique visual aesthetics. Most days you can find her traveling or in her glass studio creating unique pieces. You can find her glass in person at local art festivals. Online her work can be found in her Etsy store.
